Global automotive and industrial supplier Schaeffler increased its revenue to 14.0 billion euros (prior year: 13.3 billion euros) in 2017, growing by 5.9 percent at constant currency. The company’s EBIT margin for 2017 amounted to 11.3 percent (prior year: 12.7 percent). The decrease is primarily due to expenses for the program for the future “Agenda 4 plus One”. Net income attributable to shareholders increased by approximately 14 percent to 980 million euros (prior year: 859 million euros) nonetheless, the highest ever in the history of the Schaeffler Group.
At today’s meeting, the Supervisory Board of Schaeffler AG appointed Andreas Schick (47) to become Member of the Board of Managing Directors of Schaeffler AG as of April 1st, 2018. He will take over the role as Chief Operating Officer of Schaeffler AG from Oliver Jung (56) who has decided not to extend his contract and will leave Schaeffler AG as of March 31st, 2018.
Schaeffler is bringing Industry 4.0 in real and specific applications to the Hannover Messe 2018 with reference projects that have already been implemented in selected sectors and for innovative business models. Everything is delivered with added value characterized by decades of systems and service expertise.
Global automotive and industrial supplier Schaeffler announced preliminary key figures for 2017 today. The company confirmed the 5.9 percent increase in revenue at constant currency previously announced on January 15, 2018, which exceeded the company’s guidance for 2017 of 4 – 5 percent.
